I never met your son, kevin, and I am sorry to hear about your lost. I know there will be a sadness in your heart for some time to come, however, GOD has promise us that he will never desert us and we must believe that. With his love and undrstanding you will never be alone. Just another note: I met you a few times and I always respected your Father and Mother. My Mother,Mildred, was one of your Father's sister and your Grandmother, Annie Mae Ferguson, was my Grandmother also. God Bless you and your family.

Olin, Patty, Laura Beth--
I just heard last night at a reunion meeting of Kevin's death. I could not get you guys off my mind and heart all night!!! My last conversation with Kevin was about his coaching (I taught at Walton for 12 years).
The loss is profound indeed, but God's gift of healing is greater. I know you will seek that solace. Please know I think so highly of ALL of you. You are salt-of-the-earth people. (I taught Laura Beth in the cherub choir when she was 5 and as adults, were neighbors). I pray that in the weeks ahead you'll find uncommon strength for your extended family. I would have been at the services had I known earlier. I now live near VCU and only get back to the tri cities about once a week to check on mom and my daughter and grandson.
Sending you all my sincere love.

We’ve all heard it said that “you never really know what you’ve got till its gone”. Kevin’s untimely passing brings that home to me. We were classmates, we were teammates, our parents were friends, and so were we. With each class reunion we see that more of our classmates are no longer with us. There are more empty seats at the table. Although I am deeply saddened by Kevin’s death, I guess the truth is, we are all going down the same road. It’s just that Kevin has stepped out front. I’d like to think he is our advanced party (to borrow a military term) and that is working with the lord and preparing our places for a reunion sometime in the future. I look forward to seeing him then. But for now, I miss my friend. Kevin Ferguson, the man I am honored to call classmate, teammate, and friend.

Dear Ferguson Family -
I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I went to school with Kevin, graduated in '78 and lived in Sherwood Hills as well. It's strange how fast time goes by and yet there are memories of friends we grew up with that seem like it was just yesterday. I pray God will give all of you a peace that only He can provide. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Coach Ferguson was one of my Varsity football coaches while playing for PG from 1989 til 1992. He was a great coach and friend. His intense style of coaching was powerful and he could get any player fired up. He was also there anytime for conversation. I thought about him often during my college years. It feels like yesterday that we were having two-a-days in the summer in PG and his little son who was probably only 4 or 5 at the time would run laps with us in the hot sun. Great man. He will be missed. I am so sorry for you're lose.

Dear Kathy and Jamie, I knew Kevin or coach as I called him for a short time, two years or more, which in this life time is the blink of an eye. I came to your house once to work on his car and he treated me with such kindness. I knew then he was a special person, and God has a plan for special people. I hope that you will find comfort in knowing how much he touched and was loved by others. I pray that God gives you peace of heart for you and your familys loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Kevin. We were friends many years ago growing up in Sherwood Hills. From what I read here it sounds like he grew up to be a great man, leaving a legacy to be proud of. He poured his life into the lives of young people and he will live on in their lives and hearts forever. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jaime and family,
I was deeply saddened when I heard the news of Coach Fergusons' passing from another former teammate. I played baseball for him for 1 year. He touched me in many ways as a coach and a P.E. teacher at Walton when I attended. He also was a big part of football which I was reunited with him once again as a coach.
My condolences go out to you, his family from a former student and player of his....He was a great mentor.

Dear Jamie,
A father leaves a gaping hole when the thief death steals him away. I know the pain you feel and will pray that you will hold on to all the good memories you have of your Dad, and to the God who loves you more than a human father can. Sometimes, even though it's been 30 years since my father died, I am still blessed with a visit in a dream or a beautiful memory of him. I pray that God comfort you today and in the weeks to come. Much love, your Aunt Jane
