Skylar Brockwell Obituary
Skylar was a loving and devoted son who cared for so many. His life impact went as far as Williamsburg to Sussex County, Va. He graduated Jamestown High School where he excelled in art and welding.
Skylar is survived by his parents, Lori and Kevin Dee of Colonial Heights; his father, John K. Brockwell of Dinwiddie; grandparents, Joyce M. Cramer of Colonial Heights, Dennis and Linda Pirt of Akron, Ohio, and Ann Brockwell of Colonial Heights; sisters, Kaci and MacKenzie Dee of Colonial Heights, Cierra and Cheyenne Brockwell of Dinwiddie; aunts, Lisa Harris of Petersburg, Amy White of Prince George, Lorie Pirt and Melissa Pirt, both of Akron, Ohio; uncles, Dennis Pirt Jr. of Akron, Ohio, Albert Brockwell of New York and Donnie White of Prince George; cousins, Christopher Harris, Somer Harris, Elijah Harris, Logan Dietz, Trey Pirt, Ariel Pirt, Kyle Pirt and Nathan Morgan; his girlfriend, Casey Kanusek and unborn daughter, Ari'yana Grace Skylar Brockwell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in the Fort Lee Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Skylar's baby. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

omg sky....I had no idea. I can't stop crying,you meant so much to me when we were younger. You taught me how to love again. You were one of the realest people I had ever met,and even though we lost touch I never forgot you. I am so am so sad to hear you you left a baby girl behind. You would've been such a good father. Skylar, I dont even kno what to say anymore. We need you. Everyone, especially your baby, she really needs a daddy. But not only her, EVERYONE. Cierra too, she needs you to keep herself straight. Everything is fallin apart. We need you and Kevin to keep us together. Now we're kinda just doin whatever cuz we dont kno what to do without you. I dunno. I just dont even kno. skylar,i honestly dont know what to say. i guess i never really thought anything like this could happen.i was wrong. you were so deep, so full of life. you knew who you were i think, and i think you were the inspiration deep inside me that set me on the right path. dont ever think i didnt love and miss you because we barely ever saw eachother. and truthfully, that didnt matter. we always had a bond.we always will. i know that your okay.i know your not scared, i know your not hurting.your safe.and one day, we will see eachother again, and that is a promise.i love you sky<33

Skylar its been 5 weeks since the tragic news of your sudden death your memory is still here. I have a lost a true friend and a listener and I will never forget the long talks we have had together , I still have your cell number in my phone and will stay there and the day that it lights up I will know that you are finally resting in peace and enjoying the other side of life if anyone deserves it you sure do you have been thru a lot in so short of time . I will always keep you in my heart and prayers and always remember that I love you for who you were and will miss you but I will see you soon on the other side . Skylar was everything to me...he made me soooo happy...i cant explain how much i loved him and how much i MISS him!!! I knew how much he loved his baby girl...he couldnt express the love he had for her...he was so happy and so scared at the same time. i will fulfill every dream, every wish, everything he wanted for his baby girl and she will always know who her daddy was...i know you are walking with Christ...i love you Skylar!!!

Skylar - u were a ray of light to those who love you. Always sunny side up - no matter what u were facing. U gave ur life to God at a young age and for that we are grateful and blessed - knowing you are with Jesus is the only thing that makes your being gone slightly bearable. We will never let your memory leave us and your true family, (your mother Lori, your sisters KC and Mackenzie, Memaw, myself and my children) will ensure your daughters future. To Skylars family: I dont live in Dinwiddie any more but when I heard about what happened it broke my heart. I remember the day that I met Skylar walking thru the halls of Dinwiddie High. He always knew how to make everyone smile and I hope that his baby girl will have the same affect on the people she comes across. Skylar will be very missed and I pray for his family.

I met Skylar at my cousins house about 4 years ago. i knew when i met him he was a great person always happy wonderful personality and always smiling, to baby girl brockwell just remember sweetheart that your daddy is always gonna be with you and will watch over you forever and always!!!! I met Skylar at my nephews house a few years back, and the moment i met him i knew he was special, so kind and respectful. I pray for the family, and hope that you find some comfort in knowing that you raised a fine son, and that he will be missed greatly, and i pray that his precious little baby will be strong and healthy and have his wonderful smile. Skylar, you were my friend and like a grandson to me. I was here to listen when you needed someone to talk to and will always be. You were taken too young, and no one but God knows why. I met Skylar Kirby Brockwell at his age of 14 months old and have know him ever since. He was a very loving child, and more loving as a man. He couldn't wait to be a father. I employed him at my body shop and resturant, he was a very hard worker. I am the mother of his sisters Cierra & Cheyanne Brockwell. They miss him greatly too, the pain is too deep to even fathom. Never to see that beautiful smile, or hear that wonderful laugh. All through his life, with the good and bad times, he was gaining more control of his life now more than ever. He was working on getting a car, he had a good job with Cierras boyfriend, Kevin Taylor, (with whom he died). He was getting ready to be a father. and he couldn't wait for what the future held. Who would've guessed it would end up like this? The last time we talked he told me go fight for your life so you can see your grandchildren be born. He said to me, "if anything happens to you I'll watch over the girls for you and not let anything happen to them. I love you, I promise." Now hes gone and im still fighting for my life and he's not here to take care of us. But it'll be ok, God had better plans for him. We all know how he was and what he really wanted. May your memory stay alive SKYLAR. I will always love you, and no one can take that from me.

I came to know Skylar last summer through Casey. He was a very funny and charming young man. I had the privaledge to attend his baptizm on the Nottaway River and would love to share this family photo from that beautiful day. Skylar was a beautiful person. I just met him this summer at his girlfriend's home across the street from mine. I was so blessed to have been Baptized with him in the Nottoway River this past fall along with my own eleven year old daughter Haley. Although the time we had together was very short it was sweet. I Know without a shadow of a doubt I will, as all of his loved ones who believe in Jesus, we will see him again. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends. As sad as it is for those of us left behind, Please know, Kevin and Skylar won the race! They heard JESUS say, WELL DONE. Thank you Jesus.

I was one of Skyler's teachers. He was always a sweet kid with a big smile. He laughed alot. He was one of the most charming people I have ever met. The room smiled when Skyler was in it. He always called me Mam like it was my name. I will really miss the oppurtunity to see him as an adult because he barely made it there.
