Otis O. Epps

Mr. Otis Orlando Epps, of 4408 Heritage Road, Hopewell, departed this life Tuesday, June 22, 2009, at his residence.

He was born July 14, 1932, in Prince George County to the late Pleasant and Carrie A. Evans Epps. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, Disputanta. He worked in pulpwood for a number of years and served in United States Army. Otis was a quiet, patient man who loved the Prince George Blue Sox baseball team.

He leaves to cherish his memories a companion of many years, Ms. Sarah Jones; four daughters, Inell Jones, Carolyn Holloway (Richard), Victoria Jones and Mary Morse; three sons, John Lee Jones (Shirley), Jermone Jones and Otis Morse (Janice); two brothers, Pleasant Epps (Catherine) and Garland Epps (Josephine); three sisters, Lorraine Jones (Rev. ; 15, fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell, with the Rev. Linwood James, pastor. The interment will be in Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George. The family will assemble at 2 p.m. at the residence.
