Cassie Rivers Obituary
She was a native of Greensville County, Va.; daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Jones Walker.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Rivers Jr. of Yale, Va.; one daughter, Brenda Walker of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Queen Faison and Ada Walker of Emporia, Va.; two granddaughters, Shante Walker and Cherelle Hamilton; son-in-law, Gordon Hamilton; nine sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009, from the Royal Baptist Church in Emporia, Va., with Pastor Nathan Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Rivers Family Cemetery #2. Final arrangements entrusted to Knox-High Mortuary Inc., Emporia, Va.
