Janet Weidenheimer Obituary
Janet M. (Loose) Weiden-heimer, 72, passed away Oct. 28, 2009, surrounded by her lov-ing family, in her Spring Township residence.
She was the wife of William F. Weidenheimer Jr.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Naomi (Filbert) Loose.
She was a graduate of Reading High School.
Janet was employed as a bookkeeper for Karetas Foods, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church.
Janet enjoyed volunteering for Olivet Boys and Girls Club and Miller-Keystone Blood Bank.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Herbert R. Jr., husband of Lori Spitler, Exeter Township; her daughter, Karen J. Dickinson, Wernersville; two stepdaughters, Kim, wife of Ronald Miller, Reading, and Ann Weidenheimer, Reading; and her brother, Douglas, husband of Cheryl Loose, Cadiz, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Grieb.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 2891 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.

RIP, Nana Janet! I know it was now many years ago, 15 to be exact but I loved watching her on Jon and Kate Plus 8 with the Gosselin kids. She was so sweet, loving and fun! I also can't believe that she knew Jon and Kate ever since they were married. I often wonder how they met one another and how they came to know each other but I know she's smiling down on them from heaven and hoping that they're happy in their lives. I just wish I myself could have met her. She seemed like such a sweet and kind soul.

i am truly shocked to find out that Janet has passed away. My thoughts are with the family and friends of Janet. She was a truly remarkable woman who would do anything for anyone. The way she treated those around her, and how she volunteered to look after jon and kate's kids all the time was truly amazing. She has touched the lives of several people. RIP Nana Janet

Im so sorry to hear that our fun loving nana Janet is gone. When i watched the new Jon and Kate last night i was ver much so surprised to see that she had past away and im very sad that it had to happen just when the gosselins needed her most! Rest in piece nanna Janet you will be greatly missed!

We will miss Nana Janet. We knew her from the Jon & Kate Show and you can just tell she was one of those people who you'd love to have in your life. Thank you for allowing us to share her vicariously thru the Gosselins.

To Nana Janet's Family,
We got to know her through the Gosselin's show Jon and Kate + 8 and we grew to love her, we were truely shocked to hear of her death last night on the show she was a wonderful lady and was so full of life.

I didn't know you very long Aunt Janet, however what I knew of you was that you were Fun, and very caring.....yes Loud, but that was part of your charm Dear Lady. You will be missed. Nana Janet seemed like a kind and gentle lady. I too watched her on the gosselin tv program with the kids. You could tell they loved her alot. The last time I remember seeing her was last xmas when they all met at the hotel, and the kids bought her and her husband gifts. What a giving lady, and I'm so sorry she has left this world, but am sure she is doing good in heaven.

Nana Janet always made me smile when she played with the kids. I pray they will always have the memory of this loving soul. The world truly needs more Nana Janets.

i didn't know janet in person, but i loved her from the jon and kate show, she seemed like someone i would have loved to live next door to. i am sure she was a loving and loyal friend and neighbor, i will be forever enriched by knowing her from tv, rest in piece my friend.

I also knew Janet from J&K +8, and she seemed such a warm, caring influence on those children. "Nana's home !" was how they greeted her. She played with them, but disciplined them appropriately, and was just a perfect "Nana" for the kids. I am sorry she was ill; her family, and many others will surely miss her profoundly, even those of us who knew her from television. RIP, Nana Janet.

I wanted to send my most sincere condolences to the Weidenheimer Family, and thank you for sharing your treasured gift of "Nana Janet" with so many of us in the country who grew to love her. Her spunk, her joy, her unlimited heart. She treated everyone she met with unconditional love. I recall a moment on the show when she walked into the house and a little one shouted "Nana's Home!" Those children, and so many others, will always know the embrace of unconditional love thanks to Janet.

I didn't know Janet personally, but I witnessed her wonderful relationship with the Gosselin children (via their show) -- who truly saw Janet as their grandma. What a bright spot and wonderful influence Janet was in their lives. Those children are truly blessed to have experienced the selfless love of a wonderful woman. May she rest in peace.

Bill & Family,
My sympathy to all of you. We will miss the center of laughter at all events. Lentz would say to me,"Loosie's here", lets find her. This was easy to do and there was quite a roar when we appeared. We were together from 1st grade through high school and regarded Janet as part of the gang.
