What can I say at a time like this? To Sgt. Ward's family, Mark was an amazing guy... a true friend. I just want you all to know how truly admired he was not only as a Sgt., but as a person as well. Mark was the kind of guy that would never let you feel left out. He had a big heart, even if sometimes he tried to hide it. To Mark's friends, I know it's hard but we must remember all the good times we had. He was our brother, and will always live on in our memories as long as we never forget him. Who could forget the crazy lucky charms tattoo, or his mohawk and Navy stories. To Mark, you were one of my best friends. I'll miss our conversations. I'll miss our epic dart games, you and Papp vs. myself and Donkey. I'll miss that call or messsage from you to come out, and me going out even if I didn't feel like it, cause I knew we would have a good time together. More than anything though, I'll miss hanging out with someone I'm honored to call my friend, or rather, my brother. Until we meet again good buddy, until we meet again.

Mr. & Mrs. Ward

Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family for the passing of your son. It was an honor to have your son as my Sergeant. Mark was truly a great man. He was always there for his officers. Mark was a man of his word and he will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure in ordering a bottle of Middleton Irish Whiskey for him. We would joke around about whether he finished the bottle or not. Mark would always tell me he was going to save it for when he catches the big fish. We all know Mark loved to fish. He would tell stories about fishing up north. We always joked about when he was going to teach me how to fly fish. I will continue to pray for the your family throughout this difficult time. Sgt. Ward was a true gentleman and a scholar and he will be missed by all who knew him.
