Ross Henry Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Ross Henry of Newburgh, NY, a construction worker with Local #17, and lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation & Extended Care Facility in Highland, NY. He was 96.

The son of the late Matthew Henry and Drucilla Tillson Henry, he was born September 26, 1911 in the Town of Crawford.

Survivors include his children: Patricia Peaslee and her husband, Gib of Florida, Beatrice Babcock of the Town of Newburgh, Betty Riley of Marlboro; his son-in-law, Dan Riley of Newburgh; brother, Gerald of Wallkill; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ross was predeceased by his sons, Ralph and Peter; his brothers: Charles, Arthur, John and Matthew, and his sisters, Ethel and Mazie.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, at the DeWitt Funeral Home, 64 Center St., Pine Bush, NY.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush, NY, with Pastor Michael Dinardo officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to DeWitt Funeral Home; 845-744-2787.
