Elvira Townley Obituary
Elvira Margaret Townley, 95, of Cornwall, NY passed away on June 21, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus.
Born July 17, 1912 in Stirling, NJ, she was the widow of Raymond LeRoy Townley.
She was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall. She was a homemaker and also an office clerk.
Elvira loved sewing, cooking, theater, bowling, bridge and was a huge fan of the Mets. She enjoyed every minute of life.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Field and husband, Lars of Nova Scotia; her son, Raymond Townley of Cornwall; her daughter, Barbara Spagnuolo of Harriman, NY; grandchildren: Kristin Segerman, Karin Klassen, Jon Field, Kimberly Field, Danielle Spagnuolo and Alison Spagnuolo and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille and Mary and brothers, Joseph, Adolf and Vincent.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26 from 9-11 a.m. at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
Arrangements are under the direction of James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc.; 845-534-2550.

Dear Townley Family,
Very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother and that I missed you visit to her once lived and loved home here in Fairlawn. Later that evening I was looking on line for her obit as Dan told you we were justing thinking of her as our anniversary in purchasing the home was 6/21/91. I thought you would like to know this information since it is a significant the date she would return to her eternal home. I hope you find peace in your memories of your mother and know that we love our home here where you were raised

I did not know her well but from Barbara's stories had come to admire her spirit and spunk.
