Charles Smith Obituary

Montague, NJ

Mr. Charles E. Smith of Montague, NJ, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Claire´s Hospital. He was 70.

He was born February 19, 1938 in Montague, NJ the son of the late Ernest and Mattie VanOrden Smith.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

A family statement read:" Charles had a smart-alecky wit about him who always had a comeback. He enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles. But most of all he thought family was most important. He will be greatly missed."

He is survived by his sister, Rose Belcher and her husband, Raymond of Canisteo, NY; also several nephews, a niece, one grand nephew and three grand nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Francis and Ella.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.
