Philip Arne Obituary

Philip M. Arne, Jr. of Middletown NY, died on Monday, July 14, 2008 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown, NY. He was 85.

The son of the late Jessie Brady and Philip Arne, Sr., he was born on July 4, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY.

Philip proudly served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and later became a NYC Police Officer. Formerly of Monroe and Venice, FL, Philip was a member of both the Harriman and Greenville VFW. He was a very patriotic man.

He is survived by his son, Richard and his wife Trish of Middletown; his daughter, Barbara Hanaburgh and her husband, David of Wallkill; one sister, Grace Rogers and her husband Jack of Sarasota, FL, and four grandchildren, Samantha, Richard, Jr., Gregory and Stephanie. Philip was predeceased by his wife, Marjory.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 pm this evening (July 16) at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home, with military honors. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

To Phil's Family, Sandy and I send our sincere condolences. Phil was a wonderful neighbor up on Hilltop in Monroe. We had great times at the fishing camp where Phil would run the poker table. He was a proud former US Marine. Semper Fi Phil!
