Mary Reinle Obituary

New Windsor, NY

Mary Reinle left the party at sundown on July 12, 2008. Originally from Astoria, Queens, she lived in New Windsor, NY.

Daughter of the late Bill and Betty McQuade, sister to Billy and Carol. She was the devoted ex-wife of Tom Reinle and a lover to countless others. Adored mother of Kim, Tommy and Kelli; beloved grandmother of Hannah and Brody; zany aunt to many nieces and nephews; and shelter to quite a few strays.

Mary worked at St. Luke's as a Certified Alcohol Counselor helping many residents over the years. She was also a gifted artist who lived her life out loud then left peacefully, surrounded by her children. Mary will be missed by many bill collectors and everyone whose life she touched. She was known for her deep love of animals, her wacky sense of humor, her unbelievable talent and her very unattractive feet.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canine Sanctuary in Vails Gate or Hospice of Orange/Rockland County.

There will be a BBQ in her honor at Winding Hills Park in Montgomery on Saturday July 19, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until sundown. L.E.E.

Funeral arrangements were made by Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Homes, Monroe. www.ssqfuneralhome.com or 845-782-8185.

I had not seen your mom in many years, but after reading what you so zanefully wrote about her my memories were jolted back to the early 70's. The elks club in Brewster, company picnics, company dances or other funtions. I am gald to see her wit lives on in her kids. Stay well, maybe we will see you all in Florida soon.............Wayne Halloran

The Hospice House Golf Outing
August 13th to give back to those who were so kind to us. It was a beautiful day on a spectacular course and a lot of laughs were had by all. Steve and Tom were hitting monster shots to get us on to the green but Kelli was the closer, she had three big putts to seal the deal. We played very well, only three over par, I think we came in fifth, not bad at all. We may make this a yearly event for the family in your honor. Mary sounds like she could almost have been a member of my family.
My sister and I were amused and love that sense of humor. It was nice not to see a long list of accomplishments that really are simply alot of fluff. I'm am sorry for your loss. She sounded like a great woman.

For Mary's family,

I did not know Mary, but after reading her obituary, I realized that I missed out on knowing a very special person. My kinda woman! I wish I had known her, because I am certain we would have been great friends.

Obviously, she raised her children with a zest for life, a fantastic sense of humor, and the ability to allow strangers to know Mary as if they had known her always.

May your memories sustain you, and may you live your life out loud and joyfully in her honor.

We are truly sorry for your loss Kim, Tommy, and Kelli. I have known your mother for over 20 years since Kelli and I became friends in high school. Your mother was such a character... smart, sarcastic, funny, stubborn and blunt! She was a strong woman who lived life to the fullest. The greatest three legacies she leaves behind are her three great kids, whom she loved fiercely. Our love and sympathy in your time of sorrow, but smile knowing your mother is looking down at you all with even a bigger smile! Love, Jeanie
