Virginia Zanin Obituary

Cornwall, NY

Virginia E. Zanin, 85, a retired teacher from Cornwall Central School District of Cornwall, NY, died July 20, 2008 at home.

Daughter of William Duffy & Irene Goulding Duffy, she was born December 18, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY.

She graduated from Oneonta College and received a Masters Degree from Syracuse. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels; a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson NY, Catholic Daughters of America, Court Rita #264, NYS Teachers Assoc. and Homemakers Assoc.

Survivors include husband, Anthony J. Zanin at home; one son, John M. Zanin and his wife, Sharon of Cornwall-on-Hudson; daughters, Regina Zanin of Greensboro, NC and Lucille Nahow of Cornwall-on-Hudson; two brothers, Raymond Duffy of Island Park NY and Gerard Duffy of Newark Valley, NY; grandchildren, Melissa & Justin Nahow, Anthony & John Michael Zanin and many nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Duffy.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall.
