Joseph Yumet Obituary

New Paltz, NY

Joseph F. Yumet, age 75, of New Paltz, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Mr. Yumet was born July 17, 1933 in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late Joseph C. and Antoinette (Corda) Yumet.

Joseph was a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady Miraculous Metal, and a member of St. Joseph's Church, New Paltz. He was retired from VIACOM, NYC, NY in 1999.

He is survived by his mother, Antoinette (Corda) Yumet; one daughter, Eileen & Philip Caruana of Glendale, NY and one son, Joseph C. Yumet and his partner, Karen Stinger of Glendale, NY; two sisters: Marie & Aldo Romanelli of New Paltz, NY and Diane Lucchesi and her partner, Raymond Morris, Jr. of New Paltz, NY; grandchildren, Melissa and William Yumet and Holly DeSalvo; uncle, Anthony Corda of Brooklyn, NY; aunt, Josephine Salerno of Brooklyn, NY; cousin, Edward T. Dunn of Boca Raton, FL.

He is predeceased by sons, William J. Yumet and Charles Vaughan.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY.

The funeral will be Thursday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 34 South Chestnut Street, New Paltz where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY.
