Joseph Dolson Obituary

Blooming Grove, NY

Joseph N. Dolson, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was 92.

The son of the late Charles Dolson and Johanna Schuessler Dolson, he was born on October 10, 1915 in Monsey. He was the widower of Margaret Van Orden Dolson. He was the retired owner of and a builder for J.N. Dolson, Inc. in Monroe.

Survivors include his sons, Douglas J. Dolson, Sr. and his wife, Margaret L. of Airmont and Thomas B. Dolson and his wife, Trudy of Washingtonville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jennie D. Pirkl.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 7, from 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills.

Dear family of "Uncle Joe". It's been a while since I've seen him but growing up in Monsey I have fond memories of his love of life and spirit. I heard about your family get- togethers summer after summer.
