Ruth Giesler Obituary

Milton, NY

Ruth M. Giesler of Milton, NY, beloved wife and mother and a lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, in St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 79.

Daughter of the late Howard E. and Roberta M. Miller, she was born September 27, 1928 in Newburgh, NY. She was married to the late Carl H. Giesler, whom she married on August 20, 1950. Carl predeceased Ruth in January, 2006.

Ruth was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and resided in Balmville before moving to Milton.

Survivors include her children: Nancy Steiler of Modena, Barbara Wild of Milton and William Giesler and his wife, Marybeth of Hyde Park; her grandchildren: William and Sarah Wild, Jessica Dirago, Evan Ross Steiler and Aubrey and Marisa Giesler; her sister, Elizabeth M. Thompson; brother, Wayne B. Miller; sisters-in-law, Lillian D. Miller and Carole Miller, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard M. Miller, MD and her sister, Carolyn L. Miller.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.

A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. following visitation. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions on Ruth's behalf may be sent to Marlboro Faculty Assn. Scholarship Fund in memory of Carl & Ruth Giesler.

Dear Barbara, Nancy & Billy -
Sherman Rd. won't be the same. We both look back on all the memories when life seemed more simple. Your Mom and Dad were good and kind people. Our sincere condolences to you all.

So sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a wonderful person whom we shall never forget.
