Herbert Heitmuller Obituary
Herbert D. Heitmuller, of Lakeworth, FL, formerly a resident of Newburgh for 42 years, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at J.F.K. Medical Center, Atlantis, FL. He was 75.
Son of the late Diedrich C. and Therese Borgwardt Heitmuller, he was born on Decemebr 4, 1932 in Cornwall. He married Patricia Danniels Heitmuller in 1955, who survives at home.
Herb was a loving husband, father and Opa. He was a registered Pharmacist since 1954. He co-owned the Middlehope Pharmacy with Guy Gervais for 35 years and retired in 1995 to enjoy his grandchildren and travel. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Jets and the Army Black Knights.
Herb graduated from Cornwall High School in 1950 and Albany College of Pharmacy in 1954. He was past president of the Orange County Pharmeceutical Society, coached for the Town of Newburgh Little League, was in Pat Tarsio's bowling league for 20 years, and was involved with C.O.P.S. at West Palm Beach, FL for six years.
In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia, he is survived by his children, Cathy Dailey and her husband, Stephen of Ellington, CT, Nancy McQuiston of Newburgh, Carl Heitmuller and his wife, Brenda of New Windsor, and Paul Heitmuller of Newburgh; grandchildren, Richard Dailey, Heather McQuiston, Kevin, Emma and Eric Heitmuller; sister, Eleanor Selemon of Lagrangeville, NY; many nieces and nephews. He was also loved by Barry McQuiston and Kristen Heitmuller Sears.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" service on Saturday, August 16 from 12-4 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Herb's memory may be made to the Jay Robert Lauer Hospice Unit at JFK Medical Center, 5301 South Congress Ave., Atlantis, FL 33462.

Pat, I cannot express the remorse I feel with Herb's passing. Herb was like a brother, and mentor to me through the forty eiqht years I have known him. In friendship, I have never met his equal. He will be in my prayers daily.
