Edwin Wolff Obituary

New Windsor, NY

Edwin J. Wolff Jr. of New Windsor, entered into rest on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. He was 78.

Son of the late Edwin J. and Nancy J. Osborne Wolff, he was born May 12, 1930 in the Bronx, NY. He was married to Lorayne Wolff for 50 years, who predeceased him in 2004.

Edwin proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1947 to 1952. While serving he earned the Presidential Unit Citation with one star, China Service Medal, Korean Ribbon with three stars and the United Nations Ribbon. He also served 20 years in the National Guard, 102nd Engineer Battalion. He was a retired bus driver for MABSTOA in New York City and was a member and past master of Evangelist Masonic Lodge No. 600.

He is survived by his children, Nancy S. Wolff and her husband, Ralph Macchiarolo of Deerpark, NY, Gary Wolff of Pennsylvania, and Suzanne Scalzo and her husband, Frank of New Windsor; and his loving granddaughters, Krysta and Courtney Scalzo of New Windsor. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Anne Wolff.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550. A Funeral Service will take place at 7:30 p.m.

A service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18, at Cedar Hill Mausoleum Chapel, Newburgh. Entombment of cremains will be in the mausoleum.

Memorial donations in Edwin's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049, or the American Diabetes Association, 333 Seventh Ave., 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

I'm so sorry I was unable to give you my sympathy in person. I was away and returned on Sunday. Something just told me to check the obituaries from when I was away and I was shocked to see you dad's name. I am so sorry....
