Mary Hommel Obituary

Middletown, NY

Mary C. Hommel, a 36-year area resident, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Campbell Hall. She was 63.

The daughter of the late Thomas Ball and Frances McCarthy Ball, she was born on October 20, 1944 in Manhattan, NY. She was the widow of Kenneth R. Hommel.

She was a retired salesperson at the Woodbury Common Outlets in Central Valley. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Monroe and was a supporter of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth T. Hommel and his wife, Carolyn of Burbank, CA and Timothy M. Hommel of New Windsor; daughter, Patricia A. Cocchia and her husband, Carmine of Cornwall; three grandchildren, Thomas and Christopher Hommel and Payton Cocchia; one niece; one nephew and a brother-in-law, Rev. George Hommel of Woodstock, NY.

She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Ball.

Visitation will be today Saturday, August 23, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and tomorrow Sunday, August 24, from 2-4 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, with Rev. George Hommel officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mountainville.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Attn: Tribute Gifts, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
