Mom, you left such a void in our lives, you were such a presence, you will always be with us, in our thoughts and prayers. Your last day will be with me for the rest of my days. Dear Jim and family:

Beyond Counting Blessings
Being Truly Thankful – for being touched by Marie Masi:

Often when we practice being thankful, we go through the process of counting our blessings, acknowledging the wonderful people, like Marie Masi, that make up our reality. True thankfulness stems from a powerful comprehension of the gift of simply being touched by someone very special. In this deep state of gratitude, we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself, and our thankfulness is part and parcel of our awareness that we are one with this great mystery that is life.

The thing to remember about the life in this world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unpredictable. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way.

My deepest felt gratitude for having met Marie Masi and family, and sharing meals and laughter around the family table. My thoughts are with you and your family. Thanks for always being there for me and mine.

Marie was a unique individual. All those who met her instantly liked her and her friends and family counted themselves lucky to have her as a part of their lives. She always welcomed you into her home with an endless supply of food and humorous stories, but it was her smile that would warm your heart. For those who loved her, her 91 years on earth was too brief. She will truly be missed....."Smile, God loves you" and so does Marie.

There will never be a more wonderful person then Aunt Marie. I am so grateful for all you did for me and I miss you and love you. I go by Ogden street and I am so sad that you are not there. You will always be in my heart. I agree, you should have written that book! I will pass on all the stories you told me and maybe someday someone will write that book for you. God bless you, may your soul rest in peace.

Grandma,
I truly miss the daily talks we would have. You were the keeper of lore for the "Masi Tribe." Since we could never convince you to write that book, these stories will have to live on through our telling. Your love and your light will truly be missed by all of us who had to pleasures of talking with you.

You were everyone's Aunt Marie. We loved coming to your house, there was always room, not only at the table, but in your heart. You were a very special person to all of us. We will carry on the tradition of holidays at the big table with everyone sitting around remembering you at your place of honor at the "head of the table", as it should be. Take care of them all up there.
Love you always, Judi

As a kid growing up, I always remember the trips to Middletown on Sunday for a great meal with Aunt Marie. I remember Uncle Vito and the dog and the family getting together. These are thoughs that will stick with me for the rest of my life. It was such an enjoyment going to the house and just talking and joking around. I remember my father picking pears from the tree in the back yard. As we grew older my family would make trips to the house and we would do the same thing. My boys got to be good friends with the cousins and we are all one large family. Aunt Marie I truly will miss you and all your words of wisdom and the stories you would tell us. It was a gathering place for the whole family. Ogden Street will never be the same. Aunt Marie we will all meet again sometime. Miss you and love you

Not many words can truely define such a woman as my grandma. Her unconditional love for all she met or knew goes beyond that of a human and more towards the likes of an angel. I cant even begin to describe how sad i am to loose my grandma and yet how happy i am at the same time to know that she is reunited with my grandpa and my uncle joe. I know that she is in a better place and as I type this she is smiling down on me. I love you grandma with all my heart. Thank you for all the advice you gave over the years, the stories, and most of all the love you had for your family and friends. As you always said to me every night before I kissed you good night,"Chow Baby."

Grandma Masi,
I miss you so much. I'm glad that you are with Grandpa Vito, and my father once again. I know in my heart you are looking over us, as you did everytime we sat with you at the table. No matter how far apart we were, you always gave me the best advise, and knew what I needed to hear. I understand where my father got his strong will, and love for family, from you. I'm glad you are reunited with him, and hope you tell him to save us all a piece of your "icebox cake". .... RIP, with all my heart, Love Bobby
