Elizabeth Pearl "Betty" Yungman of Huguenot, NY, formerly of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, August 23, 2008. She was 81.

The daughter of the late John Riley and Catherine Gailie Riley, Betty was born July 31, 1927 in Florida, NY.

Betty was the former owner of the "Spartan Spot" and a longtime Secretary for the New York State Police, Troop F. After retiring, she worked at Remee Products. Betty was also a past member of the S.S. Seward Alumni Committee. She was the beloved wife of Walter A. Yungman, whom she married on October 25, 1947 in Warwick, NY.

Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter, at home; daughter, Karen Kosior and husband, Robert; son, Kevin and fiancée, Terri Gentile; granddaughters, Kimberly Jordan and husband, Jeff and Kristy Kosior. She is also survived by extended family: Tara, Christina, and Gina Marie; brother-in-law, Chapin Weed, and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was an avid Yankees fan, loved her annual winter trips to the State of Florida and will be greatly missed by her family and her much loved dog, Lola.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at St. Joseph's Church, Florida, NY. Interment will be in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4027 or to The Record's People for People Fund, Inc., 48 Mill St., Middletown, NY 10940.

We will always remember Betty as she was when we met you and your family almost 40 years ago. We have so many fun memories of the times we spent together, even just recently when you both visited us at our cousin's home in Mahwah with Lola. You have always been our cherished friends.
