Hy Levine Obituary
The son of the late Max and Yetta Diamond Levine, he was born December 23, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the widower of Linda C. Levine.
He was a member of Temple Sinai in Middletown. He attended S.U.N.Y. Morrisville, a member of International Food Technologies and American Chemical Society. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captain and U.S. Merchant Marine officer. He was the owner and captain of the yacht, BASHERT which is moored at West Shore Marine in Marlboro, NY.
Hy is survived by his long-time companion, Helen R. Sherman, of Middletown; two daughters, Lisa J. Schaewe and her husband, Tim of Nederland, CO and Jennifer E. Levine and companion, Paul Brower of Middletown, NY; former daughter-in-law, Maricruz Edwards of Pine Bush, NY; his grandchildren, Miranda Linda Levine and Alec Keith Levine; two sisters, Ruth Miller and her husband, Pete, of Connecticut, and Esther Rosengarten and her husband, Allen, of Oceanside, NY; brother, Allan Levine and his wife, Marilyn of Lawndale, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his wife, Linda, he was predeceased by his son, Michael K. Levine and a brother, S. David Laurence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, in Temple Sinai, 75 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY. Rabbi Joel Schwab will officiate. Interment will be in Temple Sinai Cemetery, Circleville, NY.

Captain Hy will forever remain in our heart. His presence in our life made a deep and lasting impression on us all. We feel honored to have had the pleasure of his friendship and knowledge that he shared openly with both of us. He died a hero in his own right! The marina will never be the same without him. He will be missed so very much! He was truly our friend and Captain!

What terribly sad news. Many years ago I routinely babysat for Mr. and Mrs. Levine's children when they lived in Middletown. I have always remembered them as a fun loving couple and good parents who treated me well. My deepest sympathy to all family and friends.
