Lillian Shabus Obituary

Woodridge, NY

Lillian Shabus, a longtime Woodridge resident, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at her home in Woodridge with her family by her side. She was 93.

Lillian was born in Mountaindale, NY, on August 1, 1915, the daughter of Jacob and Celia Sheinberg Meyerson.

She was a longtime volunteer at Catskill Regional Hospital in Harris; a life member of Hadassah, ORT, Jewish Women International and Deborrah, a member of the Sisterhood of the Woodridge Synagogue and the Kiwanis club.

She is survived by her sons: Dr. Marvin Shabus of New York, NY and Dennis Gold of Naples, FL; her two sisters, Ruth Magid of Atlanta, GA and Charlotte Schwartz of Delray Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Max Shabus; her sisters, Doris Kaminsky and Sara Rosen, and her brothers-in-law, George Kaminsky and Marvin Magid.

Funeral services will be held today, Monday, September 15, at 4 p.m. in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Workman Circle #281 Cemetery, Marsh Rd., Glen Wild, NY.
