Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Sixteen years ago we said those words. And then said "I do". For nearly fifteen years we believed and lived by those words. Today, again, I said those words. I believe them, and will do my all to live by them. Sixteen years, sixteen red roses, adding one rose each year. You exemplify the words "Wife", "partner", "best friend". Your Love continues to surround me. Sixteen years ago we wed. Today...our anniversary. I believe those words. Love never fails. I will Love you with my last breath, and I know that the first thing I'll see in the next world is your smile.

It's been over a year, My Love. A year, 9 days and a little over 12 hours since you left this world...and every day brings me closer to you. I mark the days differently than the almanacs. Wednesday will always be the last night we spent together. Thursday will always be the day you crossed the bridge. I will cross that bridge too someday, we will meet again, and Love eternally.

A year has gone by and we still think of you every day and miss you. We know you are in a better place and watching over us. Until we meet again.....

My Dearest Love,
In Heaven you ride horses, and take care of the flowers. So says my friend's 2 year old girl who thinks of you and smiles.
I miss your presence, and your kindness. Your birthday here has passed, but I suppose birthdays are no matter in Paradise.
I never dreamed that I'd be loved by somebody like you...I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.
Nine months, and my heart still bleeds memories. I wait patiently. I know a love like ours is forever. You're always on my mind.

Mary Kate was a mentor and a role model to me in so many ways. She looked out for me my whole life and gave me opportunities I would not have had otherwise. She had the most biting humor of anyone I've ever met and I bet she could have made the Pope laugh. I have a collection of "Mary Kate-isms" that I use to keep a bit of her with me always. I was once told by someone very close to her that I reminded him of her. It was the nicest compliment I've ever received. Mary Kate taught me so much about life, mostly without realizing it. Something reminds me of her every day.

My Sweet Love,
It's six months since you went Home to Paradise. Each day, every hour, every minute, my heart breaks still, anew. I mourn the loss of You in this world, but I know, and am made fulfilled by knowing, that You are in The Peaceful Place, surrounded by perfection, in the bosom of The Lord. My simple constant prayer...that someday we will be together again. I know, beyond doubt, that our Love is Eternal.

Oh Paul. I just received your letter and I am just so saddened and stunned. I feel crushed and can't begin to imagine how you are dealing with this. While it has been so long since seeing both of you, the memories are great and the memories go deep. I am blessed to have called her and you my friend. Living in Saratoga has always reminded me of Mary Kate and will continue to do so. She sure loved her horses. Our memories are a gift to me. Love, Jane Murphy McKiernan

We bring beauty with us into this world, as we bring innocence, and the ugliness that we take with us when we leave is what we've made of ourselves, instead of what we should have made. Mary Kate went to Paradise with no ugliness at all. Only the Spirit leaves this world; and hers was without stain or scar, as innocent at departure as it had been upon arrival...

I worked with MaryKate and was blessed to have known her for the short time that I did. She was a blessing to me in more ways than one. Always willing to share her knowledge and never condemning one for not knowing. A spirit of peace and calm that radiated from her even during the worst of times, was truly inspirational. I love her and will never forget her.
I have posted a few pictures from long ago Halloween at work.

I've waited a little over a month to post here, and am beginning to perhaps, just a little, start to cope with my Beloved's passing.
When I had nothing, Mary Kate gave me everything. I had a house, Mary Kate gave me a home. I thought I knew what love was, Mary Kate gave me pure, Unconditional Love.
The small things and the large, were all made better, clearer, sweeter, under Mary Kate's influence. When, I pass on, Her name will be on my lips.
I plan to post more here, throughout the upcoming year. Photos, memoranda and contacts. If anyone has any photos of, or stories concerning my Girl, they are invited to post them here.

Although we didn't keep in touch in recent years, I enjoyed MaryKate so much and thought of her often. We went to our first concert together at West Point in the 8th grade (the Pretenders) and I spent so many good times with her in high school and beyond. I know Paul adored her, and my deepest sympathies to Paul and to the McCaws.

Sincerely,

Janie Scalf

I knew Mary Kate as a friend and client. We often exchanged funny comments and reminisced about the "80's". She could make just about anyone smile, with her quick wit and dry sense of humor. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Kate. It was a privilege to know her, and she will not be forgotten!

My sister, brother and I grew up next door to the McCaws and shared many wonderful times with them. Mary Kate, the youngest of all of us, was thoughtful, kind and wise beyond her years. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. My heart goes out to the McCaw family and her husband Paul.

I will always remember how unique Mary Kate was. She had an intelligence and wit that seemed to come from an older soul. I attended Mary Kate and Paul's wedding, and can clearly remember thinking what a beautiful bride she was, and what a perfect match they made. My deepest sympathy goes out to Paul and the McCaw family.
