Blanche LaVine Obituary

Formerly of Middletown, NY

Blanche Pollets LaVine, a homemaker and former elementary school teacher in Middletown, NY, and a two-year resident of Florida, formerly of Middletown, NY, entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at home in Tampa, FL. She was 86.

The daughter of Maurice B. and Lillian Berman Pollets, she was born October 24, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the widow of Albert H. LaVine, who predeceased her on February 16, 2007.

Blanche was a member of Temple Sinai in Middletown, NY. Other memberships included: former member on the Board of Directors of the YMCA in Middletown, NY; volunteer for "Meals on Wheels"; contributing her time tutoring students in Florida; former member of B'Nai Brith; member of Hadassah and she participated in many Lions Club activities with her husband, and Past International Director, Albert H. LaVine.

Her survivors include three daughters: Barbara Irwin of Rhinebeck, NY, Joanne LaVine of Mustang, OK and Jean Roberts of New Windsor, NY; a son, Robert LaVine of Middletown, NY; five grandchildren: Michelle Miller, Doron Beit-Halahmi, Heather LaVine, Sarah LaVine and Stephanie LaVine and three nephews.

In addition to her husband, Albert, she was predeceased by her brother, Harrison A. Pollets.

Funeral services will be held at Temple Sinai, 75 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY on Friday, September 26, at 12 p.m., Rabbi Joel Schwab will officiate. Interment will be in Temple Sinai Cemetery, Circleville, NY.

Please accept my sincere sympathy upon your Mother's passing.I remember her as a teacher and participant in trips with Adele Truman with MARTA and the college.
