Domenick Colotti Obituary

New Windsor, NY

Domenick A. Colotti Sr., of New Windsor, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.

The son of the late George and Maria Perrone Colotti, he was born on March 10, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He married Louise Krawcyk Colotti on October 5, 1957 in St. Joseph's Church, Florida, NY, who survives at home.

"Domenick was a wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather. He set an example for his children by always volunteering for their school, church and sports activities. Those that he touched during his volunteer duties remember him fondly. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sports and school activities. Though we will miss him everyday, he will be in our hearts forever."

He retired from IBM, Poughkeepsie where he was manager of the Subproducts Control Center. For 18 years he volunteered as a coach, manager and president of the New Windsor Little League and was later elected to the Board of Directors.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Louise, he is survived by his loving children: Gerard Colotti and his companion, Valerie Ferlauto of Milford, PA, Domenick Colotti Jr. and his wife, Sohee of Hillsborough, NJ, Diane Sayres of New Windsor, Michael Colotti and his wife, Audrey of Newburgh and Dean Colotti and his wife, Pamela of New Windsor; grandchildren: Anthony and Juliann Colotti, Shaun, Amanda and Ryan Sayres, Christopher and Sarah Colotti, Victoria, Domenick and Eric Colotti; sister, Maria Rubino and her husband, Salvatore of Ft. To the Colotti Family,

I spent several fun filled years working with Dom in Poughkeepsie. He was always a good friend and a "great" story teller. He brought a smile to many people.

Grandma,
You and grandpa will always hold a special place in my heart! you both have shown me the true meaning of life. Just know that he is up there looking down on us cracking jokes at everything we do. He is the sunshine in the sky and the moon at night. Our entire family is who we are today because of what you both have taught us. He will live on in each of the grandchildren as we grow to be mature adults. The entire family is here for you we will go through this time together.

Grandpa,
Watch down on us. You are already missed and it wont be the same without your laughter and jokes. I will live everyday in your honor! I love you and forever will miss you!

Your First Granddaughter,
Juliann

I have known Dominick since he was in South Jr High. I recall him often playing baseball there on the grounds.
It was years since I have seen him. I located him a few years ago and we were in constant contact with other people from Newburgh and the Newburgh Free Academy.
It surely is a fact that Dominick will be missed by all. He had a fine way about him and he had a devotion for oh so many things.
At this very sad moment., I want to express my deepest condolences to his entire family and friends for such a loss at this time. I too shall sorely miss him!
