Well Dom..here we are, more than a month since the accident and 18 days since you left us..we are forced to get back to things and work, minute by minute trying to resume our lives. Everyone has their personal struggle in dealing and the heartache attached. One of the things that came to light for me in
this is the overwhelming praise (and reminders) from all of those who knew us back in the day..they reminded me that we were the Ricky & Lucy, the couple all of our friends aspired to be and even after the divorce the praise for how we were with each other...what they do not know is that our friendship allowed many personal converstations and sharing between us! We were rare in and out of marriage! Altough blessed to be left this treasure, as many aren't, I now realize that I am mother AND father, grandmother AND grandfather, a role no one else can fill for you. I talk with Lauren and she cries and regrets the day you are not here to give her away and dance to her father/daughter song..I regret and sadden at the inabilty to share the joy with you of any successes or life's events that our children will have... there are many years left for them....your presence and role in their lives will be greatly missed. The thought that is too sureal for me is to hear myself say "My children don't have a father", I still can't make it real!! I can't say to the kids "talk to your father" when things get tough or that is what I feel they need!!! It saddens me that they suffer this great loss. YOU LEFT YOUR FAMILY TOO SOON!!! The only saving grace here for me and the kids is that we find comfort and solace in knowing you are in a better place which hopefully fills you with all the peace, comfort and joy you sought to find here on earth. We know you're in the company of many beautiful people, amny of whom you know and loved where you will continue to spread the joy and laughter you gave while you were with us!!

What can I say that everyone else hasn't said already, funny, happy, loving, caring, and a great friend, etc, etc.
So here it goes.
The first time I really had a conversation with Domenic, I was in Sam's Club, I went to the office and there he was with his head in, in the garbage pail looking for a piece of paper. I thought my daughter was crazy for going out with a nut, but what a wonderful nut I found out he was.
Domenic was adored by my whole family. My daughter Tina was the happiest I've ever seen her. They were the very best of friends besides being loving companions. They would just look at each other and their love and happiness was overwhelming and contagious. It would almost make you jealous, they were so perfect for each other. For my grandchildren, whom he also lived with, he was amazingly understanding and accepting.
Domenic, where ever you are, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for the every moment that you gave our family.
So what can I say about Domenic?
I loved him and will miss him terribly. I wish everybody in their life could meet a Domenic. What a wonderful world it would be.
So Rest In Peace my loving friend, keep laughing and smiling in heaven.
Love Susan

Domenic ~ I can not believe you're gone. The joy you brought Tina and her children puts you on a pedestal forever in my heart. You were so loving, caring, funny and always there. I'll always cherish the times you were around and made us laugh and played video games with my boys. You were always a gentlemen and we loved having you around. I was so looking forward to many more memories and it's not fair! Say hi to my dad and we'll continue to keep your memory alive.
Love,
Samantha
