Carmine Petrigliano Obituary
Carmine Petrigliano of Highland Lake, NY, a longtime resident of the area died on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was 81 years old.
The son of the late Anthony and Victoria Corrado Petrigliano, he was born February 13, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the widower of Dolores Petrigliano, whom he was married to for over 50 years. Carmine was a retired design engineer and one of the first Lunar Modulars design engineers. A navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Bethany Christian Fellowship, Eldred, Tusten-Highland VFW, and a member of Highland Senior Center.
A Family Statement read, "Dad loved to travel. he was a nature and animal lover. He loved the river area, but always stayed close to his Brooklyn family and roots. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and companion."
He is survived by his daughter, Dolores Josefowitz and her husband Sam of highland Lake; four sons, Anthony Petri of Delaware, Carl Petrie and his wife, Diane of Levittown, NY, Victor Petrigliano and his wife, Lorraine of Manorville, NY, and Michael Petrigliano of Long Island, NY; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two niece, Victoria Como and her husband, Carlo and Mary Angela Ledogar; great-nieces and nephews. His companion as Carmine once stated "a wonderful gift" Joyce Ashley of Highland Lake. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores; his daughter, Blanche Barnes; his great-grandson, David Gore, Jr.; his sister, Antionette Rizzo, and his brother Albert.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home, Rt. 97, Barryville, NY. Funeral services will take place Saturday, October 11, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Montoza Cemetery, Eldred, NY.
Donations may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Ave., Suite 202, Wilmette, IL 60091-1064.
