Rogelio Rivero Obituary

Plattekill, NY

Rogelio B. Rivero, Jr., age 77, of Plattekill, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Rivero, Jr. was born February 21, 1931 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Rogelio and the late Carmen (Blanco) Rivero, Sr.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 during Korean War. He was a self employed plumber of Plattekill, NY.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Rivero of Plattekill and Emily J. Rivero-Ramos of Plattekill and one son, Rogelio Rivero of NJ; daughter-in-law, Christine Wiltsie of Plattekill; son-in-law, James Ramos of Plattekill; stepson, Angelo Rodriguez and family; stepson, Roberto Rodriguez and family; granddaughter, Lesley Ann Ramos; grandson, Rogelio Rivero; grandson, Andrew W. James; Grandson, Michael D. James; granddaughter, Daniela J. Rivero; granddaughter, Elena Rivero; granddaughter, Crystal Rivero and family; great granddaughter, Adrianna Doroteo; former wife, Emily M. Rivero of New Paltz, NY.

A family statement reads: "Rogelio B. Rivero loving father, and grandfather. You will be missed, but forever in our hearts."

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY.

The funeral will be Thursday, October 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, Route 32, Plattekill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Juame. Burial will follow.
