Balfour Bailey Obituary
Balfour H. Bailey, 66, a 36-year resident of Newburgh, NY and a retired Laborer for Tarkett Industries in New Windsor, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at home.
The son of the late Clarence and Violet Bailey, he was born December 6, 1941 in Manchester Jamaica, West Indies.
Survivors include his loving companion for 31 years, Barbara Johna of Newburgh; two sons, Everton George Bailey and Joseph Boykin, both of Newburgh; three daughters: Aliza Bailey of Jamaica, Linda Boykin and Carol Boykin, both of Newburgh; seven brothers: Lloyd Brown, Mel Gabin, Stany Bailey, all of Jamaica, Aston Bailey, Cilburn Bailey and wife, Gracey, Reuben Bailey and wife, Mary, all of Newburgh and Clifton Bailey and wife, Lorraine of Toronto, Canada; four sisters: Christine Bailey of Nova Scotia, Vanessa Bailey of Canada, Enia Bailey of Kingston Jamaica and Semy Bailey of Jamaica; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
No visitation. Service begins at 11 a.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 477 First St., Newburgh, NY 12550, with the Reverend Luklen Simpson officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
