Ellen Bernhardt Obituary

Monroe, NY

Ellen M. Bernhardt, a housewife and 53 year area resident, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Elant at Newburgh in Newburgh. She was 86.

The daughter of the late Dennis Woods and Florance Saunders Woods, she was born on January 28, 1922 in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Leonard J. Bernhardt. She was a member of St. Anastasia Church in Harriman.

Survivors include her sons, Gary L. Bernhardt and his wife, Barbara of Monroe and Glenn M. Bernhardt of Montgomery; brother, Edward Woods of the State of Florida; sister, Jane LeBlanc of Georgia; and one grandchild, Kimberly D. Bernhardt of Monroe.

There will be no visitation.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman. Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anastasia Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman, NY 10926.
