Gladys E. Smith of Narrowsburg, NY, a longtime resident of the area, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 88.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret McDermott Billott, she was born April 4, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY.

Gladys was a member of St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Narrowsburg, NY.

Survivors include her children, Franklin Smith, III of Norfolk, VA, Patricia Feagles of Narrowsburg, NY, Geraldine Lovejoy of Birmingham, MI, Joan Marie Ryno of Chester, MD, Peter Smith of Pensacola, FL, Robert Smith of Goshen, NY, Margaret Tenbus of Narrowsburg, Timothy Smith of Horseheads, NY and Maureen Kelly of Beach Lake, PA; her brother, Joseph Billott of Long Island, NY; 27 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Gladys is predeceased by her husband, Franklin J. Smith, Jr. and her sister, Virginia Larcom.

Visitation will beheld on Sunday, October 26, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Monday, October 27, from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St., Narrowsburg, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Narrowsburg. Christian Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Narrowsburg.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tusten Vol. Ambulance Service, Inc., PO Box 34, Narrowsburg, NY 12764 or St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, 151 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rasmussen Funeral Home; 845-252-3901.
