Priscilla Rice Obituary
Priscilla M. "Peg" Rice, a homemaker and resident of Washingtonville, NY, formerly of Carthage, died October 25, 2008 at Elant at Goshen. She was 85.
The daughter of Harold "Ted" and Dorothy Redding Towne, she was born October 18, 1923 in Croghan, NY.
Peg was a 1941 graduate of West Carthage High School. She married Adelbert "Del" Rice on February 23, 1943 in West Carthage. She enjoyed friends, church activities, choir, playing Bridge and travel. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe.
In addition to her husband, Del, of Washingtonville, she is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Davis of Bradenton, FL and Christine Harriett of Washingtonville, NY; five grandchildren: Wendell & Tammie Davis of Nevada, Pete & Amanda Davis of Arkansas, Lynn & Arthur Jefferies of Washingtonville, NY, Sharon & John Mabee of Florida, NY, Susan & Stephen Elter of Chester, NY, and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two younger brothers, Harold and Fred Towne.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assn., Hudson Valley Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 203, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4027.
