Robert Mitchell Obituary

Crescent City, FL

Robert Jay Mitchell, 53, of Crescent City, FL, 53, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 24, 2008 in Central Valley, NY.

Rod was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George E. and Lillian A. Mitchell.

He was co-owner of Eagles Nest Grove in Crescent City, FL and also worked for KTA-Tator, Inc. as a Senior Inspector, most recently in the New York City area.

Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating and had a knack for making friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his brother, George Mitchell of Palatka, FL, and two sisters, Beth Disque of Schenectady, NY and Gloria Rege of Dallas, TX; his business partner, Mary Lynn Mitchell of Crescent City, FL; a cherished little boy, Anthony Tanner of Palm Coast, FL, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Family and friends are invited to a remembrance service at 12 o'clock noon on December 2, at Eagle's Nest Grove in Crescent City, FL.

Memorial donations in Robert's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.

Rod and I have the same first and last name, we referred to each other as brothers from other Mothers...Rod always made us laugh and when he went away for the winters he would always remember us at the GWB, with a box of oranges...his thoughfulness, hurmor and good nature will be missed. He always keep in touch...as another friend said "another Good One gone..."

I was with Rodney that night and he was happy. It happened fast and there was not any suffering. I feel for his family and hope you gain solice in that he was doing something he loved. LIFE IS NEVER EASY.
