John Blauvelt Obituary

Montgomery, NY

John R. "Jack" Blauvelt, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown, NY. He was 77.

The son of the late Raymond Blauvelt and Margaret Ferguson Blauvelt, he was born February 24, 1931 in White Plains, NY. He was the widower of Helen M. Verlezza Blauvelt.

He was a retired truck driver for Carretta Trucking in Paramus, NJ, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his son, Robert E. Blauvelt and his wife, Charlotte J. of Montgomery, and two grandchildren, Robert E. Blauvelt, Jr. and Nicholas A. Blauvelt.

He was predeceased by a son, Stephen A. Blauvelt and his sister, Anne Gregory.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 31, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe, NY.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 1, at 12 noon in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery Fire Dept., PO Box 8, Montgomery, NY 12549 or Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps, PO Box 25, Walden, NY 12586.

Dear Bob, Charlotte, Bobby and Nicohlas, We are so sorry to hear of your Dad, GrandPa, passing away, the only comfort I can offer is that he is with the love of his life now and I know they are both happy being back together again and most especially being with Steve!
