Harry Gordon Obituary

Monroe, NY

Harry C. Gordon, Sr., a 55-year area resident, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at FDR Veterans Hospital in Montrose. He was 80.

The son of the late Louis Gordon and Sadie Tiger Gordon, he was born on May 8, 1928 in Cooperstown.

He was a retired Supervisor for Orange & Rockland Utilities in Haverstraw and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #488 in Monroe; a life member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and a life member of Black Rock Fish & Game Club in Mountainville.

Survivors include his wife, Philomena A. Constantino Gordon of Monroe; sons, Louis B. Gordon and his wife, Sally of Monroe and Harry C. Gordon, Jr. and his wife, Danielle of Florida, NY; daughter, Loraine B. Abrams and her husband, Kevin of Central Valley; sister, Muriel Levinthal of Corning, NY; five grandchildren: Matthew Abrams, and Samantha, Nicholas, Victoria and Marissa Gordon; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Murray and a grandson, Michael Abrams.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 1, from 12-2 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe.
