Its been almost a year scince God took you home my love. I still can see you sitting on couch with the dogs and I know in spirit you are with me and the girls. You weren't just my husband you were my best friend and the love of my life. The best daddy to all the girls, we might not have had any children together but you gave me two more beautiful daughters and were daddy to my two daughters. So we do have a big beautiful family together baby. You were also the bravest man that I will ever know fighting back as hard as you could to get better, and taking care of your family and protecting us right until you had to go. Thank you baby for all the love and memories you gave us. We will hold them in our hearts forever and up to god.... Till we meet again my love, then we will share them together. I love you always.......

I love you daddy. You were the best dad a girl could ask for. everytime I needed you you were there for me not because you had to but because you wanted to. You showed me what life is really about. How good life can be with family that loves you.Dad I love you forever and up to god. I will be missing you until the day we see each other again. So make sure you get that house built for us. Don't worry dad I will look after Dangerous Dan and make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble.(If not i'll just have to hit her on top of her head and break both of her ankles.) I promise to be the best daughter, big sister that I can be and if I never told you this before I will say it now I'm am so proud of you Dad. No matter what situation the family was in You always did your best and gave your last just to make sure every thing was going to be alright, and we are. Thank You

Michael was a giving person, always there to lend a hand. He was a simple man with a wealth of experiences to share. He was a devoted husband to Tammy and a loving father to their girls.
Thank you for just being you, Mike. (and catching Kathy at our wedding)

Tammy,
I'm not exactly sure what to say in this situation. I'm Irish, as you know, and have always been taught to bury my feelings or have a drink to forget them. From the first day I met you and Mike at the cook out you so generously had on my behalf, I always felt welcome in your home. Heather tells me that I am the first boy that she brought home that Mike didn't threaten to bury in the hole in the yard. He was always there to help me with whatever I needed. This has been very hard on me though I may not have shown it. I've done my best to be there for you, Heather, and the whole family, though I wish I could do more. It is a terrible loss to everyone who knew him, and he shall never be forgotten. Mike has always made me feel like family. You will always both be my parents even though he didn't make it to the wedding. He treated me like his son, and that's what I'll always be-Mikey's son. It was an honor to know him and an honor to be part of his family.
His loving son,
Tom

Tammy, my heart felt sympathy is with you and your family. Mike was a good man. His love for you and his children was first and foremost in his heart. He would talk about all of you constantly. I have been blessed to have known Mike, always a straight shooter, never mincing words. You always knew where you stood with Mike. I will miss his very dry sense of humor, his challenging questions and that half smile. Rest in peace Mike. I know that you are with God.

Dear Tammy, Lori, Heather, Lisa, Alicia, Joey & Eileen and all the rest of Mikes family and friends.
My deepest heart felt sorrow goes out to you all. Mike has indeed gone before his time. I met Mike and his brother Joey in 1971 in Rosedale New York along with another good friend Tommy Farrell. Mike was unique to say the least. Over the next 8 years we hung out and did everything together. From the first day I meet Mike, I knew he was a good person and would give you the shirt off his back. Of course, he would tell some tall tails in the day, most of which we knew he was making them up as he went along but we loved hearing them because of the way he would tell them. Mike always meant well and cared deeply about his family and his friends.
I remember going to Jones and Rockaway Beaches back when we were teenagers, Mike was our point man. He had the gift of gab. He was able to walk up to anyone and start a conversation and make friends with them. Of course we used this to our advantage to pick up girls. Now mind you, we were only 14 & 15 at the time, we would dare Mike to go over to a group of girls that we picked out and wanted to meet. Mike would walk over to them and in the next 5 minutes, they would all come back to where we were at and Mike would know all their names and would be introducing them to us. I met and had a lot of girl friends due to the fact Mike had this gift.
As we grew older Mike had a passion for fishing and would spend a great deal of time in Meadow Mere Park fishing and crabbing. He worked long hours on the docks at the fish markets on Fulton St. He then moved up to Middle Town NY where his Mom & Dad retired to. Mike was always a hard worker and took on a job in Middle Town in a grocery store chain in the warehouse. I have so many fond memories as a teenager with Mike and the other people that we hung out with. I was lucky to have meet him and been his friend for all these years. Mike Hampl, you will be missed by me and all your family and friends.

With our deepest sympathy

The angels took you home today
By gods side you’re meant to stay

A star shines bright up in the sky
And we all know the reason why

God only takes the very best
To watch from heaven over the rest

So please don’t try to wonder why
And please be strong try not to cry

For somewhere from the sky above
We are being watched with love

And in the stillness of the night
Remember A star still shines bright

To light our way through our sorrow
And help us make it through tomorrow
