Florence Aulogia Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Florence T. Aulogia, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 76.

Daughter of the late Carlo and Domenica Cifarelli Oncia, she was born on August 26, 1932 in Newburgh.

She is survived by her husband, Salvatore Aulogia, whom she married on November 16, 1952 in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh.

"Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; a wonderful and caring sister, and a devoted friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her."

Florence was an active and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, and a member of Mount St. Mary's Alumni.

In addition to her loving husband, Sal, she is survived by her five loving children: Ruth Carr and her husband, James of East Greenbush, NY, Salvatore Aulogia Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of New Windsor, Carla Venti and her husband, Anthony of Sunapee, NH, Chrysa Kennedy and her husband, Joseph of Woodinville, WA and Rosanne Moore and her husband, John of Castleton, NY; her sister, Sr. Anna Veronica Oncia, OP of Mount. St. Mary's, Newburgh; her grandchildren: Jamie, Ann, Daniel, Julie, and Michael Carr, Candice Homan and her husband, Steven, Victoria Aulogia, Salvatore Aulogia III, Luke and Jodi Kennedy and Kathryn Moore; devoted friend, Ruth Ronsini; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., today, Sunday, November 2, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence's memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
