Thomas Skiff Obituary

White Sulphur Springs, NY

Thomas B. Skiff, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a driver for Boulevard Tire of Jeffersonville, NY, and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY, with his family at his side. He was 51.

The son of Olive C. Wells Stone and the late Thomas B. Skiff, Sr., he was born August 27, 1957 in Ellenville, NY.

Thomas was a member of the Tri-State Bowling Association, an inductee in the U.S. Bowling Congress Hall of Fame, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include his life soul mate, Joan E. Redington, at home; two sons, Thomas B. Skiff, III of White Sulphur Springs, NY and Gregg W. Skiff and his fiancée, Amanda Bivins of King of Prussia, PA; his mother, Olive Stone of Monticello, NY; three sisters: Desiree Stone of Thompsonville, NY, Louise James of Brooklyn, NY and Courtney James of Liberty, NY; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today, Sunday, November 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, in the funeral home. The Rev. David McCarthy will officiate.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randelman, NC 27317.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, 845-292-0001.

Though I did not know Tom well, I knew his humor from the online chat venue AIM. There was never a dull moment when he would pop into the chat room...he was laugh a minute, and, I....like so many others, will miss him! :-( It was evident that you made him sooo happy Joan, that was so nice to see.
