Anthony Libonati Obituary

Marlboro, NY

Anthony Joseph Libonati, Sr. of Marlboro, NY, died on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center, Highland, NY.

Born in Milton, NY, he was the son of the late Rocco and Theresa Schelsi Libonati.

He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a Teamster, retired, employed by Local 445, Newburgh, NY.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laura H. Presutti Libonati. Survivors include his son and wife, Joseph and Peggy Libonati of Marlboro, NY; son and wife, Anthony and Mary Ellen Libonati of Marlboro, NY; grandchildren: Christine, Joe, Lisa, Joseph and Todd, and great-grandchild, Madison. He was further predeceased by his sisters: Anna Drivas, Julia Fischer, Victoria Libonati, Mary Margiotti, Margaret Calvacanti, and Helen Cascio, and his brother, George.

He was a member of the Marlboro Hose Co. #1; head usher at St. Mary's Church, Marlboro; Little League Coach; Marlboro Youth Baseball, and he played semi-pro baseball, affiliated with the Boston Red Sox.

Friends may call Monday, November 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at The DiDonato Funeral Service, Inc., 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Marlboro, with Father Edward Bader officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro, NY.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marlboro Hose Co. #1.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carl J. DiDonato, Jr. and Lawrence M. Cavazza of The DiDonato Funeral Home; 845-236-4300.
