Kathleen Ellen Kent

Milton - Kathleen Ellen Kent, "Aunt Kay", 83, passed away October 5, 2007 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

She was born November 14, 1923 in Milton, N.Y., the daughter of Oliver P. and Ida May DuBois Kent.

Kathleen graduated from Marlboro High School and is a graduate of Syracuse University majoring in Home Economics. She taught in Davenport Center, Pine Plains and for 30 years in Midland Park, N.J. She was the historian and serviced on other committees for the A.A.R.P. Ulster County #975. She was a member of Hudson Valley M.A.R.C. and for 56 years, a member of the Milton-on-Hudson Grange #884. She was very active in the Milton Presbyterian Church where she was the organist for 30 years and clerk of the session for many years. She was also a commissioner to the Presbytery. She was a loving and caring aunt and sister. She loved her rose garden and loved baking.

Kathleen is survived by her brother, James D. Kent Sr. and his wife, Helen T. of Milton; nephews, James D. Kent, Jr. and Charles "Chip" and his wife, Peggy Kent; nieces, Joan Kent and Barbara Kent Pidel and her husband, Frank; grandnieces and nephews, Matthew, Alissa and Grace Pidel and Arron, Sawyer and Hannah Kent.

She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Carpenter and a brother, Oliver Perry Kent Jr.

Visitation was held on Sunday at the Sutton Funeral Home, One Woodside Place, Highland, N.Y.; 845-691-2141.

Funeral services will be held today, Monday, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Milton, Church St., Milton. Burial will be in the Methodist Church Cemetery, Milton, N.Y.
