Ruth Mathisen Obituary

Port Jervis - Mrs. Ruth C. Mathisen, a 43 year resident of Port Jervis, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at her home. She was 91 years old.

She was born June 18, 1916 in Brooklyn, and was the daughter of the late Joseph & Frances Roessle Wagner. Ruth was the widow of the late Kenneth Mathisen who predeceased her in 1981.

She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church; Leisure Seniors of Deerpark; Deerpark Senior Citizens and Seniors of Deerpark. Ruth was an avid bingo player. She was also a line dancer as well as a ballet and tap dancer.

She is survived by: her son Dennis K. Mathisen, and his wife, Patricia of Middletown; her daughter Carol Dudnietz and her husband, John of Seffner, Fla.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. A son, George Mathisen, predeceased her in 1980.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis on Sunday, October 21st from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22nd at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
