Raymond Sandri Obituary

Highland - Raymond "Boomps" Sandri, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, October 18th at Vassar Brothers Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in Brooklyn on September 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Eccher) Sandri.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rosemary (Roe) Sandri, two daughters Rae Marie Calvano and her husband Tony of Highland, NY and Debbi Sandri of Stamford, CT, son, Tim and his wife Ann of Marlboro, NY, and one sister, Josephine Fracalossi of Walden, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Stephanie and Keri Calvano of Highland, NY, Eric and Rachel Sandri of Marlboro, NY, sister-in-law Kathy Lake and her husband Fred of Florida; granddaughter, Stephanie Calvano; granddaughter, Keri Calvano; grandson, Eric Sandri; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Kula Gulf during the Korean War. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club retiring in 1990 after 27 years of service.

Known as "Boomps" to all, he was an ardent Yankee fan. When not cheering for the Yankees he was his grandchildren's biggest fan and "official" score keeper at all of their sporting events. He will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held Sunday October 21st at 1:30 p.m. before visitation, at DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Rt. 9W in Marlboro, NY. Calling hours will follow from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Cremation will be done at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
