Nancy Yerkes Obituary

Ellenville - Nancy Painter Yerkes, of Ellenville, a lifelong resident, and a homemaker, died October 23, 2007 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown. She was 73 years old.

The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Lillian Karsh Painter, she was born August 14, 1934 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

She was the widow of Larry Franklin Yerkes who died Oct. 1998.

Survivors include five daughters, Lee Ann Yerkes of Napanoch, Leslie Yerkes of Ellenville, Lynne Neely of Lancaster, N.Y., Lisa Green of Hope Mills, N.Y., Laurie Gambino of Ellenville; three sons, Larry Franklin Yerkes Jr. of Kingston, Lyle Yerkes of Ellenville, Lance Yerkes of Middletown; two sisters, Mary Jane Clift of Milton, Wis., Gertrude Krouse of Wilton, N.Y.; two brothers, Samuel Painter and Dennis Painter both of Middletown; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joseph Cude.

Friends may call at Loucks Funeral Home Inc., 79 N. Main St., Ellenville on Monday Oct. 29 from 10-11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jay Vogelaar will officiate.

Burial will be in the Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
