John Yukoweic Obituary

Wallkill - John J. Yukoweic of the hamlet of Wallkill, a retired toll collector for New York State Thruway Authority in New Paltz, and a resident of the area since 1925, died November 9, 2007 at the Castle Point V.A. Medical Center. He was 88. The son of Charles and Mary Lyczkowski Yukoweic, he was born August 20, 1919 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific theater. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris Rossman Yukoweic at home; son Michael Yukoweic of Gardiner; daughter Susan Hoballah and her husband Imad of Lebanon; four grandchildren; brother Stanley Yukoweic and his family of Wallkill; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John Yukoweic; one brother Anthony Yukoweic; and one sister Anna Yerks. Visitation will be Sunday, November 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at The Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave. (Rte 208), Wallkill, N.Y. Funeral services will be Monday, November 12 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to V.A. Hudson Valley Health Care System, Castle Point, NY 12511. Attention: Volunteer Services. Arrangements were made by Wallkill Funeral Home. 845-778-3200
