Lester Clark Obituary

Stony Point, NY- Lester Arthur Clark died at his home on Thanksgiving Day after a long illness. He was 83 years old.

Lester was a native of Deerfield, Mass. and graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1942. He immediately joined the Naval Reserve and throughout World War II served as a radio officer in the Merchant Marine traveling around the world. He later became an executive in the Radio Officer's Union in New York City. His interest in boating and ham radio continued throughout his lifetime.

In the 1960's Lester founded Exurban Realty in Rockland County and became a prominent real estate broker and developer. At the time of his death, he retained ownership and management of Ba Mar Basin in Stony Point, N.Y. and Silver Stream Village in New Windsor.

He is survived by: his daughters, Valarie and Diane Clark, both of Stony Point; grandchildren: Melissa & Matthew Clynes, and Cecile Houghton of Turners Falls, Mass.; a brother and two sisters of Oberlin, Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ivy Clark of Deerfield, Mass.

Friends may call at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home on Monday, November 26th from 5-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27th at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in the Frederick W. Loescher Veteran's Cemetery in New Hempstead, N.Y.
