Anthony Cocchiara Obituary

November 26, 2007

Cornwall, NY - My beloved husband of over 40 years lost his valiant battle with cancer on Nov. 26, 2007. He was born in New York City and he is predeceased by his mother, father & two sisters.

He leaves me, his wife Geraldine & two daughters: Dina Gage & her husband Kevin of Hurley, N.Y., & Toni Gallagher of Cornwall-On-Hudson, N.Y. He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter Amanda Casey Horan of Salisbury Mills, N.Y. Anthony loved going to her swim meets.

We lived in Nanuet for 27 years before moving to Cornwall. Anthony was retired from Con Edison of New York after working there for 44 years. He was an active member in the Boys & Girls Club of New York, but his greatest love was volunteering at West Point Golf Course on Saturday mornings & spending the day there. He made many friends there & his laugh, smile, & good humor will be missed by all who knew him. He was wonderful husband & great father.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Nov. 28 from 2-7 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Union Ave & Rt-9W, New Windsor. Burial will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.

Contributions to: Hospice of Orange & Sullivan, 800 Stonybrook Ct, Newburgh, NY 12550.
