William Babcock Obituary

August 14, 1981 - November 23, 2007

Ft. Riley, KS- William David Babcock, formerly of Chester, known to his family and friends as "Billy" or "Will", died Friday, November 23, 2007 at home in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He was 26 years old.

The son of Albert and Edna Sommers Babcock, Billy was born on August 14, 1981 in Goshen.

A Chester native, he was currently stationed in Kansas as a solider in the United States Army where he worked as an armored tank crewman. A 2000 graduate of Chester High School and the BOCES Electricity Program, Billy was an avid soccer player on both Chester and Washingtonville High School teams, where his love of the sport flourished.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Babcock, at home; his parents, Albert and Edna Babcock of Chester; his sister and brothers; Barbara Levy and her husband, Mark, of Washingtonville, Albert Babcock and his wife, Barbara, of Chester and Frank Babcock and his wife, Susan, of Slate Hill as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, December 3 at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc., 92 Main Street in Chester.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. The Rev. Karen Green will officiate. Burial will be at Chester Cemetery in Chester, N.Y.
