William Farrell Obituary

Phillipsport - William John Farrell, a 22-year resident and a former diesel mechanic for Yellow Freight in Maybrook, died on Monday, November 19, 2007 in the Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 60 years old.

The son of the late William John Farrell and Margaret Van Hovel Farrell, he was born May 30, 1947 in Passaic, N.J.

He was a member of the Cook-Taylor Post #111 American Legion in Ellenville; the Road Carrier Local of #707, and Teamsters Local 560.

He served in the United States Army, The United States Navy and the Army National Guard. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, N.J. Merit Award with four BOLC, and the ARCAM (two awards).

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth A. Bilczewski Farrell, at home; two sisters, Joan Wasner of Sewell, N.J. and Patricia Tarano and her husband, Alfred of Shelby, N.C., as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, at the Church of St. Mary and St. Andrew, 130 South Main St. in Ellenville.

Arrangements are by Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY 12428; 845-647-4343.
