Josephine DellaMarca Obituary

Newburgh - Josephine Marion DellaMarca, a lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest on Thursday, November 29, 2007 in Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehab, Goshen. She was 90.

The daughter of the late Julius and Marianna Walicka Detz, she was born January 1, 1917 in New Windsor.

Josephine retired from the International Ladies Garment Workers Union in 1979. She volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and was a former parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh.

Survivors include her three sisters: Helen Koning of Newburgh, Stella Irwin of New Windsor and Anna Templeton of Roslyn, Pa.; her brother, Joseph Detz of Newburgh; four grandchildren: JoMarie Rusche of Cincinnati, Ohio, Chris DeMarco of Melbourne, Fla., Dominic DeMarco of Austin, Texas and Paul DeMarco of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Jack DeMarco of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her daughter, J. Desiree DeMarco, her brother, Frank Detz, and her grandson, Michael DeMarco, predeceased her.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 7 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
