Paul Gawenus Obituary

Port Jervis, NY - Paul O. Gawenus, an electrician for Dow Corning of Huguenot and lifelong area resident, died December 8, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.

The son of the late Otto Gawenus and Friea Roessler Gawenus, he was born December 7, 1929 in Flushing, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Babcock Gawenus at home; three sons, Mark Gawenus and Paula of Port Jervis, Dan Gawenus and wife Linda of Maine and Brian Gawenus of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Marlana, Jason, Jennifer, Rebecca and Shane; three great-grandchildren, David, Joshua and Heather.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, December 11 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place privately with the family.

Paul was always there for some one needing help! Most times you did not have to ask. I am really going to miss a good friend who was always there for me!
I was calling him on the Radio. When I got the message. I felt like I was hit with a sledge hammer. I know I will sure miss him.

Im the youngest in the family of three Brothers my dad has always been there thru thick and thin and has touch so many lives in so many ways he has taught me what i know today, My Dad will be Missed Dearly in all our Hearts, just remember all the good memorys we had and go on, my Dad was there for my mom with all her problems now us Kids must watch and help her because they where always there for us it is now our turn to take care of mom.
